Crowdfunding Mega-sites begin addressing big problems

It seems at least one crowdfunding mega-site is recognizing some of the inherent flaws in the existing crowdfunding model.

On his CrowdCrux site, Salvador Briggman, a major crowdfunding brainiac, recently ran an interview with Slava Rubin, Indiegogo’s CEO, about Rubin’s projections for crowdfunding in 2015.

Rubin discussed the innovations Indiegogo is introducing, including Indiegogo Life, which is a free version of their crowdfunding platform targeted exclusively to personal causes.

They have also introduced InDemand, which allows campaigns to continue after their campaign deadline passes.

These two changes are fascinating both for what they offer crowdfunders and for what they tell us about the thinking of crowdfunding mega-sites and where the industry might be going in the near future.
